More like an explorer replacement, actually. Has some good features (including a very nice flat view). The downside is that it's a bit bloated, with a lot of features that you'll probably never use.

I gave it a try for a while. It seems to be very powerful. Unfortunately, I ran into several bugs that irritated me, so I quit using it after a month or so. That was a few years back--maybe they've improved it.
