Ok so the adventure began at Best Buy *shutter* my brother needed upgrades and couldnt wait for it to be shipped (military man)

So we pick up some stuff and we decided to take the Radeon 9550 over th 9600 because I heard from a freind that his 9550 rocks for its use, and knowing my brothers use it woul dbe just fine.

So we get it home and take out his 7500 (lol) and pop in the 9550. Boot into windows and it installs the generic display drivers, which I knew was ok cuz it does that. So I insert the CD and start to install. Near the end of the installation it says cannot instal display drivers try installing generic ones first.

So I was like whatever. Longer story short, works in my computer, works in my friends computer.

His Specs:

MSI KT4V
768 MB DDR
160GB HDD
Windows XP

So I take off XP and try Windows 98SE. That didnt work, card still worked in all of ours. So I am entirely stumped.

I would guess MOBO but any other card I slap in works just fine. Let me know if you have any ideas.

yea I forgot to mention I did try to download fresh drivers from ATI

And both windows versions were fresh installs

I thought about that but mine always fail, my brother said he is willing to try it tho so Ill post later if it works

lol, this is chappys brother, he pegged me pretty good there, i got the card to work, but then it shut off my sound, fixed the sound but not the VC closes outa games and restars my comp

im pretty sure its drivers, but i cant find the right ones, i tryed getting the ones right off ati's website but same thing happens
