Anyone have static issues with their case window?

I've got a CM centurion 5 with a side window that is statically charged and it collects dust unusually fast. Is there any way to remove the static? I'm currnetly removing the case panel and wiping the dust off every couple days. When you wipe it with a dry cloth you can hear the static crackling similar to wiping a TV screen (only obviously not that severe).

This sounds like you may have a grounding issue.

It would be good to understand the cause. Grounding or something? In the mean time you can try antistatic cleaners. I don't have a brand in mind but here's one example.

Would a grounding issue be detectable with a voltmeter?

might be to your advantage if it's grabbing all the dust before it has time to settle on your components.

sounds like a grounding issue to me? I doubt it will register on a multimeter, the only thing you could test is the outlet you have the power strip plugged into. a good powerstrip will have a built in ground light. if that light is anything but solid thats a bad thing and i wouldnt want my pc plugged into that outlet.

Check your house wiring where you plug in the computer - make sure it's grounded properly. Buy one of these or these (if you have GFCI) and check the outlet.

If that's good, check the ground on the case next to the window with a multimeter.
