I subscribe to comcast cable internet and I use a Linksys WRT54G ver 3 router that is about two-three years old.
Here is my problem, every other day or so (sometimes sooner, sometimes longer) my connection to the internet closes through the router. I can plug into the modem directly and it works fine.
The only solution is to hold the reset button for 30 seconds and after that it works again. I'm not sure what the heck is going on, I've been on the phone with linksys twice, last time they told me to decrease the MTU to 1400 but a day later again it cut me off from the internet. I still see the router, can access the settings but nothing helps except reseting the thing.
I'm getting tired of this. Do you think its an issue with comcast (they have said its the router BTW "we don't offer support for linksys products)? Would buying a new router solve my issues?
