Anyone have a lanbox lite without a window that has mods? i live in hawaii, and when i went to frys, they only had a windowless. As impatient as i am, of course i bought it anyway. Anyone have any picture of LanBox Lites?
If anyone cut out the side of the chass. and put thier own custom window? only cause i liked the idea of that shuttle with the 8800 and it was cut and it stuck out a little bit.. that was ballerstatus!
thanks...
i dnot think im capable of the psu mod, but will i be able to fit a zalman fan on my proccessor? what would be the best aftermarket fan for my CPU>?
Do your research, there are plenty of measurements out there, Leman sugested and I went with the old xp-120 and i had just enough room to squeeze a 120 fan under the power supply.
What i'm discovering for myself is the fact that the lanbox doesnt have that much of a heat issue if you: a) re(move) the xtra hard drive cage. b) dont over clock it. c) replace the stock fans.
One little hot case experience i had follows:
I bought a 92mm zantech tornado (overkill and extremely loud) to replace the front fan, my wife now considers the machine unlivable so i stuck it in a cubby hole in my desk (roughly over an inch clearance on the sides and 5 inches on the top). Then i proceded to cover the hole with a folding table, no problem. One time though I threw a towel over the table in such a way that it wasnt getting very much fresh air, the temps never got in any sort of a danger zone but the case itself started transfering heat (everything was somewhat hot to the touch like the hood of a car). But as soon as i removed the towel and the table the case was nice and cool and the temps were normal in under a min or so, which in my mind was quite impressive.
