Anyone had problems Installing a Heatsink?

If so how did you solve it?

Following on from this thread I'm considering RMAing the heatsink.

I think it may be poorly finished, which means the base is not smooth enough to maintain contact with the CPU core.

First I want to see if anyone has solved a similar problem.

I'm even considering removing the pads from my proc' :eek:

The pads are not the problem... they are foam, they're not going to keep the heatsink from seating. The finish is also probably not the cause, I'm guessing you're doing something wrong.
