Anyone familar with ERP or inventory management? (small bus help!)

Our warehouse inventory is out of control. I'm looking for an open source software solution to help keep track of inventory. All I want it to do is let me categorize items, slap a barcode on them and let me search how much of an item we have in stock and where its located in the warehouse. (If possible a internet search of material would be great, but with Open source, i dont expect everything)

I haven't found any decent free software that does just that but instead found large ERP systems. Here are the current ones im looking at.

How would you go about doing this? Would you try to downsize one of these open source packages to your needs or keep searching for something simple.
