• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

That the teams points fluxuate... I mean come on we didn't all set our machines up at the same time so that you see points flux like this...

Example

Team Points
4am-409,079-104% Increase
1am-201,144-48% Decrease
10pm-386,573-73% Increase
7pm-223,135-43.5% Decrease
4pm-394,853-68% Increase
1pm-235,154-37% Decrease
10am-376,896-109% Increase
7am-180,490

Is Stanford being choked? or are our points that cyclical?

Its because Stanford update stats every 2 hours and Hardfolding is updating stats every 3 hours.

If you do a average of the percentages, it should be close to zero after all. Like Rebel44 said, the update timings is different so if Stanford show a updated number, hardfolding might not show that, just the number before the update.

Why don't we mirror stanford then? I mean all the sites I know of use the 3hr just like here... just wondering why we don't do what stanford does..

I'll explain why :

The Stanford site itself get updated each 1-2 hours. However, third party sites is forbidden to tap directly on the Stanford pages. They must use the txt file with the latest stats compiled by Stanford. This file get updated only each 3 hours.

The direct page would be that : http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userstats
Text file : http://fah-web.stanford.edu/daily_user_summary.txt

This mean that it's pointless for third parties to update hourly just to rehash the same infos. This is to avoid third parties hammering the servers to download the file.

That is exactly right;)

Allow me to add one more compication if you will.If you go to your name on stanford you will often see you have X points but the update will show a lower number. The ones missed on a given update will be picked up on the next update.
