I have a 2900XL in my home server setup and the fan is so noisy I can hear it in the next room!

Has anyone ever modded one to make it quieter? Or has anyone replaced the fans in a Cisco switch? If so, any advice?

Also if I added a WS-X2931-XL modual for Gigabit Fibre Links would I need to change the ISO version?

thanks.

Its not that the fan I have is damaged, its just that those tiny fans make a lot of noise.

I have the same problem with my 1u 2900. The fans use standard fan connectors, I should just holesaw the top and fit a couple 80mm fans. in the top panel.
