So I'm trying to figure out how to use this program and I can't seem to encode into Divx so I'm trying Xvid and that works but I get no sound. I'm totally new to this program so am I miss a setting or some thing?
 
I wouldn't use it for the actual encoding. Usually DVD2AVI is used to generate a project file that can be loaded in another encoding program either directly or via an avisynth script. Basic guide or full guides.
 
Try a program call Fair Use. I use it to make backups for me to store on my laptop for work trips. It does everything in one suite, and is pretty easy to use.
