I can only get 45 fps at most in game @ 1080p resolution on my projector. I'd say most tracks are 28-34 fps steady thoughout though with sig rig. Anyone else able to get higher fps in this console type game for PC? What are your Graphics card specs please state them. Also I've tried dropping from every graphics option @ highest setting to medium/high or even low and it doesn't help (maybe 7 fps increase @ most), so I just stick with almost all highest settings. It's funny too, how some console ports run slower than Crysis isn't it though :p

I really enjoy this game on my projector. :) You guys should play it if you haven't. I just wish I was getting 80-100 fps or more, I wonder which graphics card would get me that much on this game. Any ideas?

Oh one other thing, can anyone comment on SLI/Crossfire scaling when it comes to only* Console ported games for PC? Do they have as good of scaling as PC games or not as good? Should I get SLI/CFX or should I get one big bad card to avoid SLI/CFX scaling issues? Any help is appreciated.

Nope! But i just ordered the $18 dollar copy from EA. I have a 360 controller for my primary rig so hopefully it's baddass. I hope it is because dirt2 left a bad taste in my mouth after how epically great dirt1 was.

I haven't played the game (my video card sucks) but if dropping some settings doesn't give much of a FPS boost then could you be CPU limited? Because lately it seems many console ports are just badly optimized. Maybe check your GPU usage to see if it's pegged at 99%?

I have played both Shift 1 and 2. Shift 2 is giving me a hard time. It demands a lot of concentration to win.

Controls suck so bad I cant play it even with a wheel/pedals. Too much artificial input delay......If it had the same control scheme as say GRID it would be great fun. I'm not saying change the handling physics of the game, from what I can tell it's pretty good, if you can get the controls to give you a truer to life input->output.

The game is shit in terms of performance... I have 2 6970's and it can drop down to the high 20's in fps

It must have x-fire issues or something. I just got it with the $18 deal and I get 50-55 fps on daytime maps (haven't tried night ones) @ 3240x1920 with one Asus 6970 DCII gpu/i5-750 cpu maxing everything, but AA which is off.

Its a pretty nice game, but I'll prob won't play it much past 18 hours. I've never been the biggest semi-realistic racer fan. I thought I'd try it for combination of eyefinity experience/good review/low price since I didn't have a modern pc racer game. I've always liked the split screen/lan competitive ones that are more for the crashes, graphics or oddities like original NFS, beattle adventure racing, f-zero or mario kart.

same here - 5970+5870 and my frames are horrible...unplayable.. controls stink

yeah try turning AA off totally for a semi-decent playable game. also some custom dll's taking care of input lag on the more serious racing forums, so use Google to find. Almost playable but needs so work from ati/nvidia on the driver side.

I have the game.

My 5870 doesn't really break a sweat playing it maxed out.

But I have a Logitech game pad and it works like sh!t with this game.

OP, your GTX260 is starting to get a bit dated, I would at least try a GTX560Ti as you will much better fps. ;)

so has anyone figured out how to fix the handling? specifically i mean the terribly large dead zone in the middle? i just want direct controller input to feed into the game, none or that artificial lag crap

poor controls has been a huge complaint with this game. same with multi-gpu performance. i find it hard to believe that my 580's in SLI cant break 50 fps @ 1080p.

Yes, I'm about to break down and burn sum cash soon on a newer Graphics card. I've had that card for 2+ years, which I think is decent.

For the people that hate the controls buy a PS3 controller and use MotionJoy AMD drivers. Works great for me, but you still have to use Esc/enter/delete/ up down left right arrows for menu's :/.

I think for racing games you have to get a wheel like this to be partially satisfied. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879212013

And this one to be broke happy. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879337014

In the control options there is an advanced where you can set dead zone and sensitivity. When I first fired this game up i couldnt stay on track. After dropping the dead zone way down and playing with sensitivity it's a million times better.

Haven't had any fps issues. 570 with settings maxed at 1080 and perfectly smooth.
