Anyone else interested in GTR?

I played the demo and its way too realistic (gameplay wise) for my taste.

I am definitely looking forward to this game! If only it properly supported 900 degree steering, though...
 
uhm, anyone know the password to unzip the demo correctly? this is really tweaking me off.....

nevermind, I was trying to use the first demo, not demov2....
 
Well, at least there are a few of us looking forward to this game. Wish I could download the demo, but dial-up is a little slow to try and get a 200 meg file on. What did you guys think of it? How does it compare to some of the console driving games(Gran Turismo & others)?

Anyone have any idea of a release date for the U.S.?
 
I really like this one, GTR, and am really looking forward to rFactor. NR2003 is getting long in the tooth, need something to replace it with soon.

GTR looks the finest though from a visual perspective ;).

Rfactor is great however no real cars and stuff if you care about such things. But from what I have seen the physics are great.

Now I have been waiting for GTR for over a year now. 25th of february is the official release date at least here in Sweden. I would assume they release in US about the same time but don´t know.

Anyway the sound is marvellous and the car handling is just superb. Finally a game to do my MOMO Force justice however Richard Burns Rally do a pretty good job too :)
 
oqvist, no kidding, RBR is pure excitment.

rFactor doesn't have 'real' cars, or should I say it will not be shipped with real cars. I know from reliable sources, there are plenty of real car/track and series in the works for the release of rFactor. The physics engine of rF is all new, newer than the Cube engine that GTR is based on. I am willing to go out on a limb here and say that rF will be the Sim to race when it is released due to the 'mod-ability' of it. ISI, its been said, will also be releasing tools to help other create these mods. rF looks VERY good in my eyes.

Yeah but I doubt it will do the GT series better than GTR and that is the racing that I am mostly interested in :)

Though if they would release a touring car championsip mod to rfactor I wouldn´t mind...

But I will probably get both definiatly.

Also GTR have full support for TrackIR 3 with vector expansion. That is just mega cool :)
 
It will do the GT series BETTER than GTR does it. Remember, ISI wrote the physics engine for GTR, and the one in rF is newer and better. The only thing is, will there be a mod group that will do the GT mod.

There will be a touring car mod for rF, that is one that I know is being made as we speak.

TrackIR? I don't know if rF will have that support, maybe it will.

The problem is they don´t have access to current telemetry data and as many race drivers thus I doubt it will be more real even though the physics engine may be more capable.

Keep in mind no "offically supported" PC wheel supports 900 degrees that i know of, the Driving Force Pro is still only PS2 supported by logitech. rFactor should be great, gtr is going to be great, NSR is on its way out, FIRST still has my interest, its a good time to be a sim racer.

I think that Ball Racing Development is making a multi-turn wheel (900deg) but it isn't out yet, so you are correct, nothing 'official' yet.

I will certainly have to try the demo. Looks interesting.

The only good exclusive racing games to PC (yes I would rather play them on a console) were Viper Racing and Live for Speed.
 
Well some games are really PC Exclusive. Like the EA F1 games. Very dumbed down on consoles ;)

Anyway is Grand prix legends 2 announced?
 
no GPL 2 and don;t count on it, Papy owns all the code (again) thanks to the red soxs owner and it will be the base of FIRST. rFactor has potential ot be as "hardcore" as GPL, but don't count on seeing anything from the F1 days gone by for a long long time.
 
No GPL 2 will not be an 'official' release, Papy/FIRST owns that code and as far as I know are not doing anything with it. There may be something open wheel in FIRST, maybe not, we will have to see when an announcment is made.

MrMitch, as far as something from the long gone days of F1 alla` GPL, I would have to place a wager against you. That really wouldn't be fair though since betting on a sure thing doesn't give you a chance to win it.

If you know something i don't please share :D I love gpl, drove me to sink 600 bucks in my TSW, but i haven't heard of anything from the golden age of F1, i've played the demo of the F1 74 mod, but i would love a classic F1 game modernized for todays hardware. Not a mod but a true "from the ground up" game. right now Prototype C has all my attention, and i do belive i'll head off to take a few laps around rouen. :)

Get Demo V2, the first demo was a leaked press "demo" and is of horrible quality. Demo V1 was the first official demo and it had semi-pro and arcade modes I think. Demo V2 has all of them and most importantly the Simulation Physics are the latest.

Gah sry about second post, but FIRST Racing only owns the NR2003 code I believe, which in theory is technically a more advanced and refined GPL.
 
Had to add, there is now OFFICAL PC support for the DFP as of thursday! :) doesn't affect me as i have my TSW, but still good to here, now LFS would be awesome with a dfp.
