I use it on a 5D Mark II and a 7D

What camera are you using it on?

IMO if your camera can support it, and you don't have overheating issues, use it use it use it
 
I have used it before and it was ok, But I think it is easier to just use the stock firmware.
as all of you know I sure, If something goes wrong and lets say it bricks your camera, you are going to be out of luck because Canon will not deal with it.
