Is it just me or is everyone buying new video cards this season?
Anyone else waiting for the next-gen after this generation? :D

Looks like I might as well, as by the time I can buy one for this gen, the next gen will be coming out

I sold my 9800 pro and on voodoo 3 2000 now. Can't find any BFG 6800GT. Don't want to go with PNY cuz had bad experience with them. I guess ill stay with voodoo 3 for now until prices go down.

I am. I was tempted to get a 6800 but a evil woman put a stop to that :( .

I've got $525 sitting here on a BestBuy gift certificate. I wanted a new card a month and a half ago. Had the money for it then. So I just dumped it onto a gift card so I wouldn't spend it on sumthing else. And now I wait for flagship cards to hit store shelves.

its going to be hard to wait since doom 3 is out and hl2 will be out soon.

Yeah I hear ya. Especially since i'm a big HL junkie, kind of hard to resist. I bought a 9800 pro couple months ago, so I think i'll be holding off at least till the next generation.

I tend to be a generation behind. My last card was a Ti4400, and I bought that when the FX cards were already in the stores. This time, I felt there was enough of a tech leap to justify going current, so I got a 6800GT. PCI X-16 was not a concern for me as I just did a 754 socket upgrade anyway. I figure I'm good for 18 months. Then I'll go the 939 pin/ PCI Express route.

You mean there is better then this FX5900XT I just bought??? ;)

Im like Wetworks - I just now replaced my VisionTek GF3 {That I paid 473 bux for  } with a new Gainward 5900XT Golden Sample.

My game plan is January buy myself something with a sac, and put the 5900 in wifes 'puter...

-=M=-

I had a 9500 pro...so I did what I usually do, skip a generation or so and buy middle of the field...so I went with the 6800nu and I'm happy as shit with it :p

I've just got done playing Doom3 on PNY geforce4 4200TI. 1280x1024 low , no AA on A64 3k+. It played just fine so I'm gonna wait. The prices on 6800's will go in only one direction and that's downward.

If I really wanted to I could've bought fifteen 6800GT's. In the end it wasn't about the money. It was about principles, *shrug*.

Already the prices are dropping. I can almost hear the sound of aching bellies all over the videocard and game forums :D

Where do you see prices dropping? What are they going from 50% over msrp to 45% over msrp?
