Vision problems, attributed to refresh rate.....Well, after like 3 optometrist appointments and 2 sets of glasses.....300$ spent to get a set of anti reflective coating lenses, and on and on....Well, it all started when I noticed a few months ago that playing games was starting to bother me alot....I would be playing and I wouldn't get headaches, but after awhile my eyes just couldn't take the constant character movements and color changes...Well to make a long story short, after the eye appointments, and glasses, I just realized that my problem is my lcd's refresh rate....It's native res of 1280 can only output a refresh of 60hz, and that has been my prob...I went to 1152, and was able to up the refrsh to 75hz, and BINGO.....
my vision/eye strain went away when playing...Now, i'm just wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to a lcd that will do more then 60hz at its native res....Bestbuy has the gateway 21" lcd widescreen that will do 75hz at 1680.....I also have like 170$ in Bestbuy reward coupons so I would only be shelling out around 450$ with tax....I could just keep my current viewsonic and just play at 1152, but how much quality degredation occurs when you play at other then your monitors native res? Is it that noticable? I have tried both but I can't really tell, although it does seem that colors aren't as crisp when the monitor has to scale from it's native.... so was wondering if any1 has any input...Thanks
