Any way to make iTunes 7 not stutter during playback?

If I use iTunes 7 the playback stutters if I play a game or do ANYTHING else but iTunes 7. This never used to happen with iTunes 6. Any suggestions?

What os are you using?
I ask because I have had this problem with Vista 5728, but not XP.
