I know they just came out fairly recently, but I've been looking around for a few weeks now and I haven't seen any Lian Li V1000 mods yet. I just picked one up and I'm curious what people have done with them so far, especially in terms of water cooling. One of those hard drive bays looks like a great place for a pump.

$200 beautiful case... kind of hard to even think about it. Not too many thing that would be wrong other than maybe the pesky HDD to PSU divider...
Also, the thickness of case is a bit too thick to cut it, etc too easily. (Its anodized aluminum and you know how bothersome it is for dremel those are).
Still trying to figure out if I can use the exhaust 120mm section for radiators on H2O setup without cutting anything off. (no heatercore due to size obviously).

I've been very hesitant to cut into the 2mm thick side panel. I was hoping Lian Li would come out with a windowed panel like they have some of their older cases. I really dont want to use the weatherstripping method to make a window because I think it would take away from the overall sleekness of the case. Also, I don't think a dremel would cut it (no pun intended) if I were to use the pop-rivet approach due to the thickness of the sides. So my case is going to stay windowless for a bit.

As far as rads go, I think a 120mm black ice rad would go in well with minimal, if any, cutting. You'd have to come up with some way to mount it, because the standoffs for the 25mm thick fans wont hold the weight of the radiator, but that wouldn't be hard at all.

I was also considering cutting a hole closer to the front bays to pass power cords through, as in passing the power cords through the hard drive area and up thru the hole to hide the cabling a little better. Overall the cabling should be very clean, except for those horrible cords they made for the front usb and firewire ports. They're at least 6 inches too short, so your stuck dragging them diagonally across the entire case. Very sloppy on Lian Li's part there. Otherwise I'm very happy with it.

i just modded my v1000 ill post some pics soon, waiting to get the mobo and cpu , and my tubing and water block. also the 2mm thick aluminum cuts like butter used a black and decker dremel used 1 reinforced disc to cut a 120 mm opening and an 80mm for rad and resevoir.
