Any thoughts on Typhoon Repack Bay Res?

I have ordered this res for my setup.
I will be running with the following:
pump: Laing DDC w/ Petra'sTech DDCT-01
rad: MCR220

I read a post here stating that this res didn't work well with high flow setups.
Does anybody have good/bad experience with this res? Should I even unbox it when it gets here?

This is true. It is a very sharp looking product but it is having performance peculiarities. One is a critical design flaw that makes it impossible to fully bleed systems with strong pumps ala modded ddc. What you will find is that a vortex will form that will pull air which collects at the top of the res back into the loop. All of a sudden the flow will go all milky and the pump will start to make noise. The air will then gradually accumulate again until there is enough for another surge. Due to this problem I have had to replace it with a T Line for now while I ponder some modification that can address this issue - perhaps inserting a plate to disrupt the vortex?

Your best bet is to send it back. I have seen similar post and experience the problem they describe which render it not useable. Also have a DDC but with Alphacool top.
