any specific ATI drivers for Doom?

There are new 4.9 (BETA) Catalyst drivers out:

And, there is a patch done by Humus:

Install the Humus patch like the instructions say; making sure you put the file in the correct directory.

If you want my advice on the 4.9 betas, I would do what was suggested in another thread; take the atioglxx.dll file out of the 4.9 installer. Simply replace your current 'atioglxx.dll' file in your windows/system32 directory with the one you extracted from the 4.9 installer. I have done both of these and have yet to get an error. If the file is extracted as *.dl_, go into a DOS prompt and type (without the quotations), "extract atioglxx.dl_ atioglxx.dll"

It also seems that running AF actually improves your fps slightly -- check out my thread.
