Ryzen 5 3400g, 8gb memory and 256gb sad trying to run a single core, 1gb memory WinXP VM and the VM is horribly slow. From login screen to desktop takes 5min. Same VM on a Surface Pro2 and no issues with performance. Google shows lots of complaints, but very few solutions.

I need a single VM for work.
 
Have you verified that Windows 10 Hyper V is off?

The last Windows 10 reset some of my customizations and set Hyper V active. This was on Intel, but VB was super slow.
 
I will check that first thing Monday morning. Doesn't help i am stuck with home edition
 
So I have drunk from the cup of victory!

Went backwards, VirtualBox 5.2 and Windows 10 2004 were the ticket.
