Any SLI users have problems with CS Source?

This game is just a pain in the ass.

I have done 4 tests (all done in 1280x1024 rez)

test 1 : ran game with 1 card (highest setting possible/lowest setting possible)

test 2 : ran game with other card (highest setting possible/lowest setting possible)

test 3 : ran both cards in sli (highest setting possible/lowest setting possible)

test 4 : reverse the cards in sli (highest setting possible/lowest setting possible)

used many different drivers for each setup

final result = either way I do it I get the same average fps according to fraps.

the same (give or take a few frames) mimum frames of 20 (how can u get 20 on the lowest settings with SLI???) and highest of 289 (huge gap). This is outrageous. Is this just me or is it anyone else?

Other games work beautifully. Anyone else having these problems?

I am using the 78.03 drivers (78.05 made it worse, tried the past couple too) and chipset 6.66. Everything else updated.

People in servers say they don't have any fps problems at all. But none are using a 7800 series card. thanks all

SLI seems to be working fine on my dual 6800 ultras. But in all honesty, source is mostly cpu bound so the difference is minimal at best. I'm not sure why you're getting such low drops, though...did it start when valve released that giant update to source a few days ago or whatever?

it got worse after update, huge drops happened be4 update too. Is there an option somewhere to enable SLI in source or what? thanks

186.5 average fps on stress test @ 1280x1024, 16x AF, 6x AA, everything high with reflect world.

In game = hell to pay

I see alot of people are having probs but no1 reporting to have problems is running 2 7800gtx in sli...

its not unheard of, my friend is having problems with frame rates in CS:S with his single BFG 7800GT OC, we are going to try an OS reload to see if that works.

it has to be CS

did a "enpro lvl" doom 3 run @ 1280 x 1024 ultra quality 4x aa super sampling

fraps reports
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
51578, 871171, 36, 62, 59.205

even if i ran on 1600x1200 i doubt i will see much a difference in average fps

I don't think you should be running 6x AA...unless something new happened, that's an ATI-only feature. Nvidia has the crazy 8xS mode to compare to it. I never quite understood why source gives the option for 6x AA on cards that don't support it (like my 6800U's). Try running 4x instead and see what happens.

i only ran those settings for the stress test in game i used the recommended. However no matter the setting its the same story.

also this is really weird

I get this message when i try to join ClubSLI (www.nzone.com)

you download an app and it sees if u really have sli and here is what it says

"Thanks for registering for Club SLI...however, we detect that you do not currently have NVIDIA SLI enabled in your system.
This could be for one of two reasons:

You do not have NVIDIA SLI enabled currently on your PC (if so, just go to Desktop properties and enable NVIDIA SLI)

--or--

2) Your PC does not currently have NVIDIA SLI ready components.

If your PC is SLI enabled, but NVIDIA SLI is not turned on, simply enable it in your settings, and visit our site to re-register for Club SLI.

If your PC is not yet SLI certified (with an NVIDIA SLI certified motherboard and 2 NVIDIA SLI certified graphics cards), be sure to visit our partners' sites for great deals on NVIDIA SLI hardware. Then come on back and join Club SLI!"

wtf? 3dmark works fine. doom3 as u can see runs super. cs source well thats my main and only problem. AHHH~!~!

could it be that i am using a third party driver is why this app is not detecting SLI?
