Any recommended Tri-SLI PSU's?

Any suggestions on a modular and hopefully quiet PSU for an i7 Tri-SLI setup using 260's or 275's? I'm assuming this will put me towards the 1000w or beyond category, and my previous builds have all been 650w and below.

(The 285's or 295's won't be happening due to budget issues. No overclocking on the CPU or GPUs is planned.)

Depends on the CPU. I would recommend a 750W PSU minimum for a Core 2 or Phenom II-based system, and 850W or more for an i7 rig.

I use the Coolmax CUQ-1200B 1200w psu in my i7 rig and it works great! I have a SLI of twin XFX Black Edition 260's. The Coolmax psu never hiccups even with the i7 boosted to 3.82ghz and overclocking the 260's to 690mhz. It stays nice and cool, has multiple modular connections and plenty of length to reach anywhere in my Antec1200 case. The bonus is the price, $189 at the egg right now. It uses an older design but since i couldn't get the newer design (read Enermax Revolution 1050) to work with my Gigabyte X58 motherboard, I opted for the tried and true. 5-year warranty also. Good Luck!

Corsair 850HX would be fine... although if you got the funds, Corsair 1000hx.. :D

Thanks for the ideas. The certified list at slizone seemed to include every 1000w PSU ever made, so it wasn't much help.

I bought the Zalman ZM-1000-HD 1000w PSU based upon reading how quiet it was on SilentPCReview. If you are looking for a heavyweight but silent option you may want to take a look at it.

Again, what CPU are you using and what are your other specs?

i7 920 (air-cooled) on EVGA Classified, three GTX 260's, sound card, SSD boot drive, 2 HD and 2 DVD, 4 case fans. It's possible that a 9600 may show up as a Physx booster later, so I'll want to have enough capacity for it as well.

I'd recommend an 850W PSU for that, like the Corsair HX850, Seasonic M12D 850W, Antec Signature 850W, or Enermax Revolution85+ 850W. The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910W would also be a good choice for a little more power, although it isn't modular.
