any point in caching ssd?

Just pulled out HDD in my hp envy laptop and installed 500gb Samsung. Already had 240 intel msata using 64gb as Rapid storage cache. Any point in that now?
 
If I read your post correctly, sounds like you just replaced your mechanical hard drive with a 500gb Samsung SSD. If that is the case, then there is nothing left to use caching on.

I still use it on the desktop, where I generally always have at least one mechanical drive for bulk storage. Certainly can't hurt to use SSD caching for that.
 
machine is really snappy now way faster the cache boosted hdd plus I get 64 GB back on the intel 240 msata........Not going to bother
 
ssd=single best bang for buck upgrade for any system that doesn't have one.
 
Unless the caching device is significantly faster than the device being cached, the answer is no.
