I´ve heard that those Pentium 4 M processors run like hell and outperform same frequency P4C CPU´s :)
Like P4C 2.4@3GHz is slower than P4M 2.4@3GHz.
Is this true..
I´d like to see some Sandra and SuperPi results.

Pentium M processor, also in the Centrino package, outperforms same clock P4's. Pentium M is a different beast alltogether.

P4M and P4, assuming 400MHz fsb and PC2100, perform identically clock per clock.
Desktop P4 now has much faster FSB and memory options.
P4M works in many desktop boards, but only with the multiplier of 12.
High thermal limit, low voltage requirements, if your board can run a high enough fsb, the P4M would really be an awesome overclocker.

I´ve heard thar you have to insulate or cut one pin of mobile cpu so you can use higher FSB?

its the centrino that is faster than its desktop counterpart....not the P4m....and it (centrino) ends at 1.7ghz

some info on OCing the older mobile chips, heres a link for ya..

First, the Centrino is not a processor. The Pentium M is the name of the processor you're referring to. Second, the Pentium M doesn't have a desktop counterpart. There are a couple of boards designed for blade servers and industrial PCs that could be converted to desktop use, but the processor would perform identically because it's still the same Pentium M.
