Any hooking experts here?

I've used various security software recently and a few of them have warned me about atitray.exe wanting internet access via other internet progs that are granted access. I've emailed the author and he says that I should contact the authors of the security progs about it as there is nothing malicious about his prog. Why is this flag coming up? It's a prog for ATI vid cards and here is the link to get the file. I don't see it accessing the internet using a port scanner and yet these security progs (Antihook is one that bugs me incessantly about it, but there are others like NetVeda and Jetico that also warn me) say it is hooking into the other internet progs to access the internet. Weird.
