Any Hidden Problems with this System

Hi all,

I am building myself a new computer system so I can finally get out of my Dell. I have pretty much settled on the components I am going to use but I am worried about running into some problem such as wrong case with motherboard or something. Any thoughts or criticisms would be appreciated. Thanks

What kind of Power Supply are you going to get?

I forgot to put it in, sorry. I am getting an Antec NeoPower 480W Power Supply retail.

I'd get a DVD-burner, but otherwise looks fine to me (I'm not sure if that HSF will work or not, as i've never dealt with A64 cooling, you might want to check that but it's probably just me being dumb)

Probably good. I ordered the same Mobo and CPU two days ago so I'll let ya know what setup is like. Seems you ordered your CPU from the same place (Monarch Computer?).

Looks good other than the RAM. I wouldn't see the need in having the 4400 stuff unless you just have too. But that's just me as Iw ill be running 4000 patriot memory. Get some more HD space, unless you just don't care.

i think that you should save more money and get an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and OC that with a ThermalRight XP-90 or XP-120 if they fit.

you should get a bigger HDD. even ive found that 80GBs fill up pretty fast. 120+GB drives are gettin really cheap.

and you may want to wait until the nVidia Nforce 4 boards come out. good stuff there.

and has anybody missed where teh graphics card is?? im going to assume the 9800 in your sig, but id recommend goin to PCI-e for the next PC. 6600GTs are nice for mid-high end gaming.
gigabyte just came out w/ a dual GPU 6600GT, which is supposed to put out more power than a 6800 Ultra IIRC. they say thats its cheaper than 6800s, so keep an eye out for that.

i assume youll be using the 9800pro in the dell in this new system. since youve started to part out the dell, id take the 120gb hdd out of the dell and use it in the new system too. it will save you a little bit of money that you could use somewhere else.

make sure you get a 90nm athlon 64 3200, the run cooler, faster, and overclock better.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to be using the 9800 pro and 120 GB hard drive from my dell for the new system. I think if I waited for the nforce4 I would be spending more money than I want to. D34dly what are your timings on the patriot ram and is it tccd? I am hoping to OC the 3200 up to 2.5 to 2.6 GHZ with decent memory timings but don't want to spend a lot of money on great ram.
