Any good 2560 x 1600 monitors out there?

I've had a Dell 30" 2560 x 1600 for 15 years not and love it

The font size is just right for some reason. Newer monitors have font size too small for me :<

Is there anything more recent, with g-synch maybe?

Nothing with g-sync yet, but the 38” Acer with HDR is a very nice display and has ~ the same font size as the 30” Dell you have. It is 3840x1600 resolution. It is 75Hz.

The rub is the Vega 64 isn’t powerful enough to drive that monitor to the 48hz freesync minimum in new games. My friend bought that monitor, it’s really nice, bought a Vega 64 sapphire card, was annoyed he couldn’t keep freesync minimums in games like Vermintide 2 and them bought a MSI gaming X 1080ti. He lost freesync, but he still loves the monitor.

I personally wouldn’t give up freesync or gsync. After using both. I had a Dell 3014 and I too thought that monitors 2560x1600 was just about perfect, but in my opinion a HP Omen 32” monitors gaming experience with freesync was better (so much smoother feeling) - so I switched. The. I got tired of AMDs quirks and bought a 1080ti. Freesync was SORELY missed, and I actually totally disliked the way gaming felt after using freesync for nearly a year.

So I wanted to switch monitors again to move to gsync.

I now use a Dell AW3418DW with gsync. It’s only 3440x1440, equivalent to a 27” in height, but it is a better gaming experience than the Dell 3014 and the HP Omen 32”. I too wish there was a 38” ultrawide with gsync. I’d probably jump to that when a decent one is released.

Is 75Hz only with FreeSync? Or can it be done with an nVidia card.

I currently have 38" LG 3840x1600, but it can't do 75Hz on an nVidia card.

The fonts on 3840x1600 seem to be smaller than on 30" Dell (2560 x 1600). I dont know why, maybe some PPI stuff which is too complicated for me.

P.S.
I tried 3440x1440 and sold it - too small for me. I love 3840x1600 much better.

He says for sure it’s true 75Hz for Nvidia and this Reddit page confirms:

Make sure you pick up the newer version with HDR if you are going to swap out.
