Any diffrence between Audigy2 to the ZS version?

I want to buy a new sound card and i dont know if except the 7.1 support and the extra 2 SNR DBA there is any other diffrence that worth the waste of money?

You may try asking this in Computer Audio, or requesting the Mod to move this thread there for better results.

However, the short version is that in my experience, the ZS has better software. Unlike the A2 standard, it has the THX console for imputting speaker placement. Also, the "killer" app here is the "Stereo Surround" upmix function. I don't know if you have a 5.1 sound system, but if you do you realize that most media (with the exception of DVDs and other 5.1 encoded material) is in stereo. This means that for most of your audio, you'll only hear it out of 2 speakers.

A function known as upmixing allows the signal to be played on all of your channels. The regular A2 has Creative's CMSS and CMSS2, which most people think sounds like crap. The bass is almost nonexistant. However, the ZS has Stereo Surround, which simply replicates the stereo signal to your rear sats, and muxes it togeather for your center channel and subwoofer. This allows it to sound true to the original media, but you still get to hear it on your entire system. If you need more detail, again there are gurus in the Audio forums that can provided a more in depth explanation than I.
