Is there any advantages over the other between the 2? i always here problems with crossfire on some game on how there is microstutter or sometimes less fps vs single card is getting a 6870x2 more safe?

they are the same, instead of 2 cards its just a single card with both GPU's. as far as the microstutter it depends on the person. for example i can't see microstutter where as if my cousins playing on my system he can see the microstutter on my system. as far as games only running on a single gpu when crossfire is enabled that problem has been fixed with the 12.1 preview drivers and future drivers after that which now allow user made game profiles.

The advantage with the 6870x2 is that it's easier to add that 3rd and/or 4th GPU than it is with 2 single-GPU cards in crossfire ;)

Remember that it is totally possible to run a 6870x2 + 6870 in triple-crossfire.

so i got a good deal for 6870x2 for $250 and i have a 6870 so i tri fired them in my lan box lite lol and so far no problems lets see how the summer heat will treat it. i first tried just the 6870x2 and my frames would be all over the place going from 80 fps down to 40 in an instant when turning around in fps games. going tri crossfire eliminated that.
