like how old does the thread have to be? say if its like 5 months old, can you bump it?

(bumping meaning asking a question, or you did a search of your problem)

thanks

If it's under 18....no bumping!

[sry....couldn't resist]

The 6 hour rule only applies to the FS/T forum.

As for bumping older threads, if, for example, you searched and found an older thread that only partially addressed an issue you're having but it's still relevant, that's one thing. But bumping old threads for no good reason will likely get them locked. Go on a pointless bumping spree and you'll likely earn yourself a vacation. ;)

otherwise known as necroposting
I've seen people post weird stuff in a year old thread that just did not have any relevance.

I would go even further to say that if you are not sure because the thread is say 6 months old, make a new thread, link the old thread for reference.

thanks camer, i noticed that post, but it wasnt closed when i checked, and i never came back. superb example, thanks.
