to the Klipsch 5.1 Promedia Ultra Speaker system?

I want to buy a 5.1 speakers system

I had a 5.1 Promedia Ultra system which failed after a year of use

the sound produced by that system was just superb, but I am a little worried about buying a second set after that past failure

so anyone have and ideas as to what system to get?

and would it produce the same or better sound?

thanks

edit: it looks like the Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 5-Piece Speaker System with Subwoofer
will be it

IMO if you are looking for a comparable/better sound, you should consider Creative Gigaworks. I heard the Logitechs, and wasn't too impressed. I liked the 2.1 Klipsch system, though (compared to the Bose that was next to it :D) I never heard the Creatives, but heard that they are as good/better than Klipsch.

I would be hesitant with the Logitechs, as generally people who like the Klipsch speakers will be dissapointed.

As IMO, they are overly boomy

yeah, I was thinking that
I once tried their 2.1 speakers, and didnt like them (after been using the promedias 2.1)

I am thinking of getting another set of the klipsch speakers and hope for the best

my bro has a set and they are still working, i think they are about two years old

Your best bet is to go to the local Best Buy or CompUSA most places have them setup for you to listen to.

As for Klipsch, I still have a set of Promedia 5.1s going strong, probablly around 4 years old.

Well if it's just your amp then I would recommend just simply getting your Klipsch set fixed. I think it costs about $100.
