Antec TruePower vs. Antec SmartPower

SmartPower = middle of the road PSU.
TruePower = higher-end PSU.

Yeah, initially TP's used to be bundled with the early cases. Now most Antec cases (correct me if I'm wrong) include the SP. Take for example the 2nd gen True Powers. I don't think I've seen one bundled with a case lately.

Why? Again, what's the main differences. I don't see many.

Thought Truepower have seperate rails while the smart power shares the rails for the 5 and 12 volt lines.

TruePower, TruePower II & NeoPower all have 3% load regulation & are higher quality units.

SmartPower & SmartPower II have 5% load regulation &
although of good quality are considered "entry level, value" units.

Dave ;)

Combine awdark's and davidhammock200's posts and you pretty much have it.

Also TPII-480 is in the TX1088AMG. TPII-380 should be the PSU in Sonata's that are out in the wild now as well.

Awhile ago it was a pretty even mix of TruePowers and SmartPowers in cases. Most new cases now have SmartPower 2.0's.
