My current system uses a 2004 Antec TrueBlue 480 psu. It's currently powering a Pentium 4 system with a 6600GT and a healthy assortment of accessories with no problems. I want to build a new system and I am hoping to salvage as much as I can from the old (case, drives, soundcard, etc.).

I want to know if the TrueBlue 480 will power a current system (think Core 2 Duo, 8800GTS, no SLI, light overclocking). The wattage is certainly high enough but I understand that the ATX spec has changed with time. I am worried that it does not meet current ATX standards.

Specs are listed here.

I'd really like to keep it, I love how incredibly quiet it is.

The 8800GTS requires 26A on the 12v rail. Your best option would be to get a new PSU that has dual 12v rails that meet or exceed that requirement. Go for a decent 500-600 watt unit from Corsair, Seasonic, etc. if you're looking to maintain silence.

The Corsair VX450W would do the job nicely if you don't want/need a modular PSU.
