Okay so I got my Antec True Power 430 two days ago, and its great and heavy. Heres the "problem" Newegg (where I bought it) has it listed as 20A on the +12 but when I got the box and PSU it says (on sticker and on box) 26A on +12.
I think this is odd. I'll give you pics if you want but trust me its 26A clear as day.
So whats the deal, did Antec revamp the PSU to give it more juice or what.

Newegg link
(if you click on the pictures of the unit you can see the one with the sticker, it says 20A)

Okay since the pic in that other thread is out of focus, and this may be a thing of intrest to those in the PSU market, I'm posting a pic of tte PSU sticker. The box reads the same but the flash washed it out.

Related but possibly relevant info*

I read somewhere, in some review, that the true380 was fairly underrated and actually equalled a 450w unit. Maybe its the same story for the true430 and antec is now stating the "max output"...

Cross posting :D

But yeah, mine is the same, guess we got the "hidden treasure bonus edition" ;)

Thats what I'm saying...
We need to spread the word, more people need to jump on the Antec 430 for the now known or now boosted stats.

I, myself was seriously doubting this PSU because of the +12 but now (if true) I have nothing to worry about. And if this is just a update from their "safe underrated amps" to thier "true amps" all the better for all those who bought them!!!

Anyway, the reason for this post (now after reading diablo's thread) is to share the "true" wealth of the True 430!

Now all I need is the RAM, CPU, HDD, and monitor and I'm all set (soon to be disclosed next week)

Note: And video card, by the way, its about 3:23am NY time, so I'm a wee bit drunk, Cheers mates,

4:01 same thread, same pissy drunk 9311 or is that 9312? I dont even know anymore, anyway buy the Antec 430 and you wont be disapointed! (I think!)

My True 430 has 20 +12. Can someone tell me the difference between 20 and 26? Is 26 better?

there are 2 versions of the True Power 430watt PSU.

The older one comes with no built in SATA connectors on the PSU, where as with the newer ones they come with like 2 SATA built in connectors on the PSU. Basically these 2 are not the same PSU.

Newegg basically listed the older Antec PSU with the NO SATA Built in Connectors but forgot to change the site info as Antec has released another version of the PSU under the same name. Their suppose to be the same, but apparently their not in some minor specs.

So I guess the 20A one was the one with NO built in SATA connectors and the newer ones with the built in SATA connectors are the ones rated at 26A.

That's my guess. I'll let you know when I get home, cause I believe my 430TP is the 20A which I know for sure has NO SATA connectors. I'll be home in 1hour or so.

Yup, I think i'm right, got home, took at look, and mine is rated 20A and has NO Built-In SATA Connectors.

I guess the 2 Built-In SATA connectors changed the specs/rating of the PSU a bit, so basically Newegg forgot to changed their site info, which isn't really their fault to begin with, as Antec was the one changing the PSU unit and relabeled the another product under the same name.

They may be 430watt PSU made by Antec, but their phsyically different if you ask me, actually in fact I prefer the PSU's not to have the builtin SATA connectors at all. Which is why I haven't bought a True Blue to replace my TP430, cause all the new Antecs have built in SATA connectors which I don't like.

However the Antec Neo PSU has replacable SATA connectors which you can snap off and replace with molex snap on which are very nice.

cool beans, more amperage. that is good to know...i've been lookin at getting a 430w for my other comp, the other one has gotta be on its last legs after this many years

Cool, sounds like it's the newest version...26A is kickass..mine is working flawlessly! :D
