Hello - i searched and tried to find an answer - if i didn't search well enough, kindly guide me to the right place - but here's the issue:
Recently my friend upgraded from his Antec TPII-430 to a Corsair 550. When he took this PSU out of his computer, he set it aside to put into one of his boys' computers. When he finally put it in, it would only turn on the CPU fan/case fan/PSU for about a second - as if they started to get juice and then they died. That's all it would do.
I did the paper clip test to the PSU - and it started up no problem. So we tried another motherboard - same result. Then we tried another motherboard - same result (he was upgrading 3 computers).
Is the PSU just messed up? Is it salvageable?
Thanks,
Chris
