Sorry Antec, but where are the improved versions of P18x or Solo ? No, instead of that we get things like this... Oh well, at least they still sell the Antec Fusion cases.

We see these as desktop systems for people who don't have enough space for 5.1 or don't want to run wires. Think people with dorm rooms or a small desk area in their apartment.

They just arn't [H]ard enough then ... I don't have the space for 5.1, but that dosn't stop me from putting front and rear speakers side by side, with mid hidden behind the monitor, and sub my foot rest. But that could also be I already had 5.1, so why buy new

The systems come with wires.... no need to run wires unless you are in a pretty large room. Unless you mean that thay would rather have 2.1 instead of having a few extra wires to get 5.1

And I had 5.1 in my small dorm room. I also have a fairly small desk One of the rear speakers is on the fireplace mantle and the other is on a cabinet that a book shelf sits on. The Sub is behind my monitor.

That is awesome. I used to use my stereo setup for my computer when I was in high school. My parents didn't like it cause it was so loud. Nothing like playing some Wing Commander and FPS games with a full blown stereo setup.

Thing is, with my setup, you do not need to crank it. I certainly CAN but even at conversational levels, there is pretty much full sound. You might expect that when using full towers.

I never cranked my system either.... except for a few "tests". I was using fairly old equipment... 70s to early 80s era. If I turned the volume up at all on my stereo it was very very loud. I pretyt much had to keep it at the lowest volume setting that gave me sound.
