Antec Sonata vs Antec Performance 1080

First of all, after a while lurking around here I decided to register, so w00!

....Anyway--I'm getting a new PC in the next couple of days. I went for the Sonata case, since it looks great, is silent, and most importantly comes with a good power supply. I was going for an Antec TP PSU anyway (best thing I can get over here), so the Sonata is great value. I used this PSU calculator thingie I found, and according to it I should be needing ~18A on my 12v line. My system is going to be the following;
Athlon 64 3000+
Epox 8KDA3+
2x512 ADATA PC4000 Memory
WD 80GB HDD + WD30GB HDD
A Yamaha burner and a plain CDROM drive.
Radeon 9800 Pro
A firewire controller (which I'm going to keep using, as the Epox doesn't come with firewire), which needs it's own molex.

So - Will the Antec True Power 380W that comes with the case cut it?

I was going on fine with an old P4 1.7 Willamette system with most of the parts in the above system (Intel mobo and 2x256 Samsung RDRAM PC800), with a crappy no-name PSU that gives 15A on the 12v line. I'm not too sure about really needing 18A, 'cause from what I understand that's kind of a lot. I'm also worried about upgradibility.
I can get the Antec Performance 1080, which comes with the TP430, and it's also a bigger case overall. I kind of wanted front audio ports but I can live without them.

Oh yeah, I'm also planning on overclocking.
Your opinions?
 
Welcome to the forums. :)

You should be fine with that TruePower380 power supply. I don't see anything in your listed specs that might want to work with a stronger PSU.

Well, lets say for a second that I have a GF6800 Ultra (might get one one of these days when they drop below $300...). 380W should still cut it?
 
350watts is usually enough for 2 optical devices, 2 HDDs, a floppy and the mobo, and the video card if it requires the extra power source.
 
A'ight, thanks. Now another question.. How is the Sonata for O/Cing? Is the 120mm exhaust fan along with a 120mm fan in the front enough for cooling an O/Ced A64? I noticed there's no holes or anything in the front of the case, so even with a big ass, high CFM fan, I'm not sure how many air would come through there..
 
You might want to start a new thread over in Overclocking and Cooling, they'd be better able to answer your questions ;)
 
Antec Sonata = nice'n'quiet.
Antec Performance 1080 = wide open airflow, good for overclocking and putting fast fans in, but at the expense of noise. I own this case, and sorta wish I bought a sonata.

350 or 380 Antec watts are plenty for almost any computer.
