Antec Smartpower 350 problem

My dad's machine is running on an Antec Smartpower 350. Last night he told me that his computer kept restarting after a couple of hours of Age of Empires 2(hes been playing it for years and its all he likes). So I think something is overheating, open it up, check everything and the heatsink, RAM, and videocard are all cool to the touch. So of course, the last thing I check, the power supply, isn't working and the metal casing is fairly hot. The fan that isn't working is the one on the back of the case. If I just attach an 80 mm over the fan hole where the fan isn't working, would that work until Thursday? A friend has my backup PSU, but hes not going to be home until Thursday so I don't really want to order a new one.

the rear fan on that PSU doesn't turn on till a certain degree is reached.

my dad got one of those on sale for $35 bucks after her 200watt PSU popped.
i was thinking of getting her a case.to just get that psu in that small tower i had to take out the CD-rom and HD's.

SL350 or SP350? The old SmartPowers have two fans that are supposed to be spinning at all times.

I do not know the model number as it came with his case but it has the 20+4 connector so I'm going to guess that it is the newer model. The fan is not spinning up even at high temps though...it felt warm to the touch where as my fsp PSU is about room temp.

Did a build with my friend's TX640B case, which came with a SmartPower 2.0 400W PSU in it. No matter what I did (Prime95 + rthdribl), the second fan never activated once. The internal fan is all it needs for the most part.
