Antec quality

there is a good deal on Antec NeoPower NeoHE 550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply. it got $40 rebate. I am thinking of buying it.

couple months ago, I heard Antec PS got issue with its low quality capacitors under high temperature. does this PS has this issue? anyone got this PS, it it loud under load?

It is a Seasonic built Antec not the CWT built Antec's. So while a lower end Seasonic build it should be fine.

Personally, I've never had an Antec supply fail. I've out-grown them, but they always worked when I took them out.

However, now that I'm into the upper end of things, (just ordered a Silencer 750) I'm going with someone well known for their high-end supplies. In this case, PC Power & Cooling.

I don't think Antec even makes one that capacity (could be wrong)

I read so many negative reviews at newegg. mostly it is motherboard compalibility issue.

I felt to risky to buy this PS. should I buy something else?

When I built my current system last fall there were complaints the Antec Neos and the Asus P5W DH weren't getting along well. Not sure if that's been resolved. I had Antec in the past and they were ok. I like the Seasonic I have now. Its very quiet and the sheathing is much nicer than anything I had before. Seasonic also builds for PC Power and Cooling whihc is a good brand. I don't think PSU's are so expensive that you shouldn't get the best one you can (not the biggest one mind you - just the best quality).
