I've been hearing things about these "Fan only" molex connectors that come right off the PSU. People say that when you plug them into a fan the computer automatically regulates the speed by the temperature inside the case. Do these work well? And if so, what PSUs do they come with? Is it just the Antec TruePower PSUs?

The PSU regulates these fans, not the computer. They work well... I'm guessing they run my exhaust fans at about 7V, speeding up a bit only when needed. This feature only comes with the TruePower PSUs. Recommended.

I'm just worried if I get the Super LANboy case, it has 2 Antec 120mm fans in it, one intake one exhaust I presume. I just don't want it to be too loud as it is going to be in my room and I like to keep my computer on 24/7 (less file fragmentation). I figure if I get a Truepower PSU I can get the fan only connectors, which might make the fans quieter.
My other option is the PSU I was looking at before the Truepowers was an Enermax 350w. Reliable decent powersupply for only one hard drive. That one costs $66 Canadian, while the Trues range from around $100 (380w) to $110 (~400w) CAD. One of those Vantec fan controllers is only around $40. Would it be smarter to:

A: Get the Enermax, run the fans on regular molex.
B: Get the Enermax, get a vantec fan controller and run the fans on that.
C: Get the Truepower and run the fans on the fan only connectors.

May I suggest you take a look at the Antec Sonata case. Mine is in default configuration and running like a champ! Config below.

yes, but the PSU is only 380WATTS. would it be suitible for a 2x HDD, 2X CDROM, nforce 2, barton 2500+, 1GIG of ram system with some overclocking?

Dude the load total for your system probably isn't even close to 300wats load. Hopefully a few of the more EE inclined folks will speak up here but the 380 TRUEpower should be more than enuff.

Only?

Quit hanging around all those PSU fanboys, they're bad for you. The system you describe would run fine on any reputable 300W power supply, although 350W would be preferably (for expansion room).

Watts mean nothing... I know of some generic 550W PSUs (they weigh almost nothing) that only put out 16A on the +12V line, where my TruePower430 puts out 20A. I just laugh at people who think they got a smashing deal on a 500W PSU for $20. They think I'm stupid because I spent $100 CDN on a 430W PSU. "Mine's got more watts, so it has to be better!"

Yeah my friend tried to convince me that $30 350w ATX PSU is as good as a $60-$70 Antec or Enermax. I know it's not, so I won't be buying one.

I think I'm going to plan to get an Enermax 350w and a vantec nexus fan controller.

How many fan's are you running? I only ask because the Antec Trupower PS's have fan only molex connectors on them that regulate fan speed based on power supply detected temp. No reobus needed.
