Anyone with this case think the stock fans that are placed to the rear are a bit loud? They sound like jets to me IMO. Anyone else think so? and who have swapped them out with different fans think it made the computer significantly quieter?

Also, can anyone direct me to a site that teaches you how to clean up your case for better airflow?

I just purchased that exact case a couple days ago and placed 2x 80mm vantec stealth fans in the back instead. Case temp is SOMETIMES 1C higher than with the antec fans and it is a hell of a lot quieter than those antec jet engines, so in the end replacing them was really worth it. I actually ordered 4x Thermaltake Blue Eye 80mm case fans and a controller to replace everything. The Thermaltakes are 21db like the stealth fans, put out .8cfm more air and are cool looking too(3x blue led, 1x red hd activity led). Newegg has them for like $4.80 each so I suggest you check them out.

To answer your last question, I would consider getting a heatpipe based aftermarket heatsink and fan for your videocard, instead of dumping the hot air into the case it goes right out the back. I also on the same day added a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev3 to my 9700Pro and the system runs much cooler and quieter. Worth checking out, they are dirt cheap at some places right now and work with a wide range of video cards. Also round cables would be a good idea to free up some space. You could also remove the front air filter on your case, just remember to clean your case everyonce and a while.

Hope this helps.

That helped a lot. I've been out of the computer modding scene for the longest time and never seen a fan controller before. How much do those cost and are they as simple as to install as PSU fan controllers? Also, I ordered 2 extra 80mm Antec fans when I ordered this case, do you guys think NewEgg would allow an exchange?

I'm also having a problem putting the front door back on. I don't believe it's broken, but that top part just won't fit back into place!

hmm... I have this case, and mine are stealthy like. Almost exactly like my Vantec Stealths, only slightly and I mean slightly louder, but nothing really noticable unless your paying attention to it. Their like rated 25dBA which is pretty damn quiet compared to most standard case fans which run usually around 34dBA.

Believe me if they bothered me I would have replaced them the first time I turned it on. Then again i'm debating whether or not I should replace all my case fans for the SilenX fans, but spending 80bucks on 4 case fans is just too rediculous. I gotta find them cheaper.

I would of sworn the standard fans that come with the case are rated at 30db's, not 25db.

Dang, I wish I could make my case wiring as clean as yours. Mine looks really messy and I wish I could install my 4-1 card reader, but I cant seem to get it out of my old case (I think I need Allen wrenches).

Anyways, are fan controllers hard to install? And can just any fan work with any fan controller?

Nope, and from the sounds of it, I dont think I would want to. :)

cut the honeycomb mesh out from the back, that will quiet them down.

Does 5db make that much of a difference?

Well it can, a good rule to go by is

+3db is percieved by a person as a 25% increase in volume
+6db is percieved as 50% increase in volume
+10db is percieved at 100% increase in volume

So if you have two 30db fans, together they produce 36db's. If you have two 21db fans instead you only reach 27db's which is 9bd less, or almost half as loud. **Note these are approximations and dont account for possible cancellation, etc.**
