Okay, so I am going for a 3.6Ghz OC on my E6600(bad batch, hoping for the best). The HSF I am using is a TRUE 120 with a ~1350RPM Yate Loon. I want the best possible cooling performance(without buying anymore sh!t, so please don't say water cool it), so I have been looking at a few ideas. First, a few things; Both my IHS and HSF are lapped. All fans in my system are ~1350 Yate Loons. The Mobo is an Evga 680i with the Mosfets/Chipset TIM Replaced with MX-2.

OK, so here is my idea...

So basically, I am separating the Sound card(ExtremeGamer) and GPU(8800GTS) from the North Bridge and CPU(E6600) with a piece of cardboard(or suggest something better). The point is to separate the major heat sources and give each compartment it's own dedicated airflow. Each colored rectangle represents a Yate Loon fan. I also won't be using the top fan as I believe it might disrupt the airflow. I am going for a wind-tunnel like thingy(Like what Antec did with the lower compartment of the P180) as I believe it will give the best performance.

So what is your take on this? Will it work like I expect or would it just be better to leave it be and use it as Antec intended?

Edit: BTW, I got the fan in the 5 1/4 Inch bays(3 of them) with a Scythe Kama Bay which I replaced the fan in. The white arrows show airflow and the huge white line is the cardboard(or whatever someone suggests is better).

I certainly think the whole chamber and duct-type set-up is worth a try in that case.

I read some dutch guys modded their TRUE, essentially encasing it and pumping air through it in a push/pull configuration, I'll see if I can turn it up.

Also you've done the washer, dime, penny mod on your TRUE to get more pressure on your heatspreader from the heatsink?

No, I have my Scythe Ninja installed on it ATM, but when I install it I will do the Penny mod(using a washer though).

Edit: Yeah, I've seen that done. I also might give that a try, but if I do I will have to add the top fan back on or just leave a hole there. Thanks for the link.

That's a great idea, I'm going to have to give it a try on my P180. It runs so freaking hot it's not even funny. My opteron runs almost 10C cooler with the side panel off than with it on. I need to get a Scythe ninja first though...the Zalman on there now doesn't blow air the correct direction for the wind tunnel thing to work very well I don't think.
