Antec P180 Case, Install problem

I'm trying to install a floppy in an Antec P180 in its external 3.5 bay. The problem is simply, I don't know how this case works....

Here is where I'm having my problem, on the P180, the external bay has another sheet of metal around the 3.5 bay on the inside (pic for reference) so I can't get a hand or screwdriver in to attach the floppy to the bay, it just stays loose, I tried using the rails, but to no avail.

Heres whats keeping me from screwing it in on the sides like you would any other case,

There are rails you install to the floppy drive just like the rails to install the cd-rom drive. They are smaller than the cd-rom ones. Just screw those to the side of the floppy and slide in into the slot from the front.
 
Thats what I keep reading, use the rails and it should just slide right in, but, all my rails are the same size and they are to wide to fit in the 3.5 bay from the front like I did with my optical drive in the upper bay. Could I be missing parts? maybe some smaller rails?
 
I think you should have smaller rails, IIRC.

If you don't have any smaller rails (make sure you didn't use them for something else?), I'd call Antec, cause they hosed you.
 
There are rails for the 3.5" drive, it's that simple. You're missing something or not looking in the right place if you can't find them.
 
Yeah, IIRC (I have a 1st generation P180 - all the bugs and flaws), there is only one set of 3.5" bay rails provided, so hopefully you did not misplace though.

And unless I have been woefully misunderstanding cases, I just punch out those metal plates and junk 'em into a box for future use as metal scraps - I mean, I don't see any other use for them if you are putting a device into the bay.

haha! I did that too, so far, they are useless.

I found those rails among all the various boxes of stuff I don't use anymore but can't bring myself to throw away cause I spent so much money on it when it first came out. Yes, its worthless now but you never know.... right?
