Old TruePower or TruePower II?

The TruePower II seems to be a copy of the Neopower, minus the modular cabling interface. The old TruePower is considered archaic compared to the Neopower. ATX12V v1.3 spec, a two-fan setup (more noise), etc.

truepower 2 has a single 120mm fan, dual rails, two pci-e connectors, and a 24pin power supply
 
have a look at the motherboard power connector on your power supply, does it have 20 or 24 pins?
 
it doesnt matter, the TruePower II series has a 24 pin connector with 4 detachable pins, so its interchangeable. its a real nice PSU. i recommend it highly :D
 
ok, if ya want performance....get the truepower 2 550w which cost the exact same thing as the neopower 480..it has better rails and everything that the neopower has, except the modular cables...get the tp-2 for pure performance if ya dont care about cables....the neopower 480 has 33 on the 12v rail..tp-2 550w has 38?

Yes. 24-pins or 20-pins, this PSU will work.
 
I have the neo power, runs very silent for me, does a great job. No complailents on my end.

I'd get the TruePower II for what you may be adding down the road. The old TruePower only barely makes the ATX12V v1.3 Hybrid spec, and even then, doesn't offer you things like the 24-pin main and PCI-E power connections. Enjoy the new spec.

You'll just be running an adaptor to convert the 24-pin main to a 20-pin main.

If you know you'll be getting a new PSU for sure when you overhaul your rig, then it would make more sense to me to save some cash and get the older-spec TruePower which should line up with your motherboard better.
 
the old true powers cost almost as much as the new 2.0's, so why not juss go for the 2.0?
