Antec Neopower DOA?

OK, just went down to Frys and picked up an Antec Neopower 480. Connect it to everything, using the 24 to 20 pin adapter (using a DFI Lanparty 865PE), recheck the wiring twice, and NOTHING. The motherboard status light won't even turn on. I put the old PSU back in and everything runs fine.

It's the first rig in my sig, and I felt that with the disk farm in there, I really should have more on my 12v rails, so I picked up the neopower. Unfortunately, it appears to be DOA. Anyone else have this experience? Or is it an icompatability that I am missing. I know the PSU is ATX2.0 compliant, but it should be backwards compatible, right?

I also had a DOA Neopower from newegg, I returned it and the next one they sent was fine. Hope that helps some

I am guessing that's what it is. While it isn't a statistical universe, I haven't been having good luck with antec products recently. I had a 120mm fan on my sonata that died after 6 months, and now this. I have 2 other antec products, but so far a 50% failure rate......not happy at all, although I am still impressed with the build quality of their merchandise, the DOA/reliability factor is not looking so strong these days.

I recently ordered a neopower 480 for my new computer and it was also DOA, the fan on it didn't work at all. My new one should be here early next week from newegg.

Just returned it for a replacement at Fry's. Bonus, it turned out to be the 2.0 revision, which means I didn't have to use the stupid 24 to 20 pin adapter. I just snapped off the extra 4 pins. Works well. Quiet, less mess, and good voltages, so far as I can tell.

(unfortunately, the Lanparty 865PE has shitty voltage and CPU temp sensors that report readings that are WAY off).

Yea, I had one die on me. Just would not come on at all. So, I got the Antec PS tester and the light did not come on so I RMA'd it to Antec. They sent be something back though I'm not sure if it is a new PS or a Refurbished. Ya know that sorta pisses me off when something like that dies and they send you a refurbished one. I think it should be NEW.
