Antec Neo Issue

I just got my new Antec New 480w from newegg today. I plug it in and she starts up and I quickly hold my power button down to power back off. I only wanted to see it work before I start hiding the wires nicely and finding out it doesn't work. However, the little LEDs on the motherboard lights up.

As I start fixing the wires so they are hidden I decide to power up agian to test on the way to make sure agian, it turns on and shuts off after 1 second. The fans spin and for 1 second also.

I was thinking I shorted somewhere so I take everything apart and just have the main power in and the 12v, same thing on and off within a second.

I grab my old PSU and power up works fine.

Take the Antec to another PC, same thing.

Is it DOA? :(

*crossing fingers*

While I use the Neopower without any issues, I'm not at all qualified to say what your trouble may be.

But as a Neo user, here's a bump for ya.

gl :)

i'd say it's DOA. same thing happened to me with my old fortron 530 i returned to newegg. you can try and find the thread i made on it i'm sure its only within the first 3 or 4 pages. i hope you got a warranty ;)

I think someone mentioned in another Neo thread to make sure one of the 12v lines isn't overloaded - You might check that if you haven't already.

I hope you get it resolved, and that it isn't an issue with the unit.

Normaly fans spinning (including CPU fan right?) and Power LED on the mobo being lit I'd double check the seating on the RAM and the Vid card.

Beyond that 1-800-222-6832, or techsupport@antec-inc.com.

hey factory representation :D

there have been issues Ive seen with certain mobos and the Neopower
it seemed to not like some MSI boards, and I suspected that it was similar to the
OCZ Powerstrem and Asus issue, where the culprit was the power supply's compliance with the new BTX signal specs
and the mobo not being compliant, the workaround in that case was to place a greater load on the PSU, the mobo alone wasnt enough (think the Grn to Blk trick needing a load on some PSU and not on others), so hook up your drives and try again

I've replugged in my video card and ram, same issue.

As far as mobo compatiblility, I have a DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra rev B

I've got the standard warranty from newegg so its still cover, i just dont' want to pay the 15% restocking fees

I just called newegg, and they are letting me RMA it and they pay shipping both ways! Sweet. Hope my new one works out ok, if not im going back to enermax. :D
