I had this power supply go up in a puff of smoke last night. Turned on my computer and right away I heard arching and then a pop. I checked for shorts but didnt find any. I hooked up another power supply and everything appears to be working fine.

My question is could this have been caused externaly? I dont want to hook up my new power supply before I know for sure. I wonder if the power draw of the water pump could have a play in this. Any thoughts? System specs below.

PNY 6800GT @ 425/1115
2 WD 36g raptors
Swiftech MCP350 pump
1 dvd Drive
cheap enermax fan controller.
