Antec Kühler H2O 620 CPU Cooler

There is another review out today of the Antec Kühler H2O 620 CPU cooler, this time it is the gang at Funky Kit doing the reviewing. For comparison purposes, you can see our evaluation here.

What I'm really interested in ... is what type of temperatures I'll be able to get with our overclocked Core i5-2500K running at 4.5Ghz. We'll be comparing the Antec Kuhler H2O 620 against the CoolIT ECO and Vantage ALC, which were both used to cool an overclocked Core i5 - 650 @ 4.0Ghz.

Another... Yay!. Let's blow the hot air from the cooler to the inside of the case instead of exhausting it as well as killing the air flow by mounting it on a setup where the grill is majorly restricting the air flow.

I cut the fan frill off my case and used 2 spacer 120mm fan shrouds blowing out on my H70 tests.
I had nothing to compare against ie with fan grill & no shrouds.

Had good temps but noisy with the fans i used lol 110 and 88 cfm scythe juni kaze models.

Having read a number of in-vs-out comparisons, the consensus does seem to be that intake is the best choice. The CPU is the most temperature-intolerant component of any system, and pulling fresh air onto the radiator is the best way to keep it down. The rest of your component can handle the (only marginally) higher internal temps. As for airflow, a good case shouldn't be dependent on the CPU cooler for that anyway.

All this aside, I'd be far more interested in reviews of the new Antec 920.

If I have to kill the airflow in my case to use one of these coolers I'll stick with a True. IMO you would be crazy not to set the cooler to exhaust.


That said why can't anyone do a comparison using using the same fan on all of the coolers? Like most people I'm not using the stock fan on my H50. What about an "apples to apples" comparison using the same fans on all of the coolers in push pull?
