I was told by many people that with my system, they suggest I get an Antec True550 power supply. When it died and killed my motherboard too, I was told to get a PC Power and Cooling.

I called Antec, during normal business hours, and nobody was there. I left a message and told them that I would like to send it back (because it was within warranty period, I only had it for three months before it died). I gave them my mailing address, phone number, and email address. This was a week and a half ago, and I have not been contacted.

I sware to fucking god, bad customer service really fucking pisses me off more than anything else.

Wait a second, you left one message and came to this conclusion? What if you dialed the wrong number? Come on, that's pretty pathetic if you didn't even try calling again...sounds like you weren't all that interested in reaching a solution...

Yup ;)

Im not so sure your being fair, in either the description of Antec
or in the root cause of your power supply's demise

that Prometeia you have eats up 130 to 170 watts of AC power
and I would imagine that if it was on the same house circuit the power supply was
thats alot of intermittent draw
and you add in the utility variable in addition to that
that might account for a root cause
(of course it "should" have protected the mobo anyway)
are you running any power conditioning?

the one call support senerio.....
what is your case #?

Downloadable RMA form
follow the proceedure or screw yourself, but dont bitch about them if you cant manage to do that

well, because it said "thank you for holding, a technician will be with you shortly" for about 15 minutes before it forwarded me over to the voicemail. It said "welcome to antec" at the beginning.

I got no case number, I've called them every day and left a message and they won't return my calls.

fuck.

try reading those links instead
fax the RMA request form and start the process all youve done so far is beg them to hold your and and give you special treatment outside of the normal channels

yes antec is horrible on the phone i had left many messages and have gotten no responce with tech support.

you have to call the coustomer service number and tell them you have left messages and no one calls you back and you want to speak with someone NOW!

and you dont want to be transfered to the voice mail again.

i was a tech support technician for bellsouth for almost 10 months, and from my experience what you said is correct. if you ask to speak to a tier2/supervisor, they cannot deny you (except a few circumstances, as in if they are in a supervisor). You can also ask to be transferred to the priority number, and warm transferred at that. Also asking them to refresh with you every few minutes is helpful.

Ice Czar: Thank you very much for those links, that was very helpful and i really appreciate it. you have helped me out with a veriety of issues time and time again, and i am forever greatful. i hope you understand that i was pissed that the power supply died and took my mobo with it, and all i wanted to do was rant. the info you gave me was sufficient for fixing my problem, and i thank you again for it.

thanks!

sorry if I was a little short with you,
and Im glad youve got the process underway

that Antec shouldnt have taken the mobo with it, unless it was either defective
(which happens to even the best makes ocassionally)
or there was a power event too great for it to deal with
if that was the case, its likely to occur again eventually,
and so you need to get to the bottom of it and take preventative measures
are you running power conditiong? surge protection, if so is it MOV based?
is the Prometeia on the same house circuit?

all in all the design scheme for overvoltage protection on the Antecs is fairly well proven
so I really think its important that you sort this out, before you loose more components
(like the next board and supply)

Maybe the power supply isn't the only problem, what brand or model of surge protector do you recommend Ice Czar? Preferably something under $50?
