I dropped this into the cable post as well.

P180. Single drive, but set up for more additioinal drives at a later time. rock solid silent. passive cooling on the video card, and 2 of the three fans set to low. Positive case pressure equals a cool video card.

And yes, the rear fan and Zalman both face inwards. Works pretty nice actually.

The cables could be cleaner if I new this was the final iteration of the system. It is a unit I built for sale and won't finish the cabling until I know what the client's wishes are.

A better look at the board and cooling. The front panel is left unplugged to avoid any accidents with my 2 year old. She likes to push buttons when daddy isn't looking. Probably a lifelong attribute

The backside of the case. Again, there are things that can be tightened once I know where the final cabling will run. I made 3 major cuts to the case to pass the cabling in bulk. I drilled out the 3.5 cage as I haven't used one in a build for years.

They are nice cases to work with. Very well built, and dead silent. you would have to lean into it to tell if it is running when the fans are set to low.

This is the third 180 I have built into. I wish I had taken pictures of the last one. I cut some cable channels to run everything. It was VERY clean. Paybe I will try to get down to Atlanta sometime and see If I can get a couple of pictures.
 
Intentionally so. It is pulling cool air off the rear fan which is also facing inbound. It is set to medium speed. The top fan is on low. The front fan is mounted in the upper front bay and faces inbound as well. The main hard drive is mounted in it's flow. This gives a good positive pressure which helps cool the passive video card. Works pretty well. And low noise. If I wind up installing a RAID array in the bottom of the case I will custom fit a 92mm Panaflow in the bottom fan bay to further cool the drives, and will seal the bottom from the top. .

Yeah, I've taken a real drubbing for that. Since this is a system that I built to sell, I have them in that way because it was just easier since I suspect that it will be selling with 4gb rather than 2. So I guess I just got lazy.
 
yeah, I just bought an Antec P180 black, w/ a 680i mobo and soon w/ an evga 8800GTS and Thermalright Ultra 120. Will upload pics when im done, but i gotta tell ya, get your fingers a little wet, place it beside the stock intel hs/f. you can feel the good design of this case working. the hot air is pushed through the head sink then immidiatly sucked off thru one of the two vents. good design.

I'm a long time Antec user, so I guess I better kick my hat in the ring for the Antec Crew. I just bought a nine hundred to build my new machine in. No pics right now because it's still stock... well, aside from being completely disassembled on my desk at the moment.

Got a few custom paint ideas in mind that I wanna take care of before I put the system together... but with $2k-ish worth of computer parts sitting 3 feet away, it's hard to resist temptation to just build it in the stock case.
 
yeah i've got a couple minor mods (cover up teh wires, re-route cables, *shield for Thermalright cooler <-- autta be cool, put on clear side pannel) to perform on my 180, will upload when there done.
 
My new Antec 900. Still needs some wire-management, which is not easy in this case. When its not so cold out, I will take it over to my father-in-law's garage. The only way to hide wires in this baby is to cut holes to run them behind the mobo "tray".

My Mushkin 580w PSU has only one drawback: 4 pin CPU plug cable is WAY too short. Had to run it around the video cards and underneath/through my Zalman 9500.

Ok I've got some "before"s for you guys.

This is the first post making any mention to the mod i have officially planned so, ill make a worklog when im 50&#37; of the way through so, ill know i wont sissy out, right now i've got a whole bunch of ideas streaming through my head.

one part of the mod that has started is a new desk! YES! that IS temporary!

Anywho! even if I do cancel the mod its a sweet system stock.

The 4 pin cpu cable is not long enough. It comes about 2 in too short. DOH! I ran my SLI mobo power plug that way, and it was a tight fit.
 
Quick little mod I did today. Antec 900 + 3x Blackfire 120mm fans @ full speed = JET ENGINE. So I had this cheap little Thermaltake fan controller lying around, from back in my "anything with LEDs is cool" days. About an hour and a half's work and I turned this:

The green LEDS are lit when the fans are at half-speed, so that works out about perfect. Quiet enough, yet still moving plenty of air. This is my first time posting any of my work, so hope you guys like it!

Is the AMD Heatsink stock?
 
Nothing fancy here, just your good 'ol basic P180. Yate Loon fans all around. Front and rear YL's MB controlled, blowhole YL at 7 volts. PS/HDD chamber YL at 7 volts as well. MB 8 pin power cable run behind the MB tray (holes cut). HDD power cable run past the HDD fan housing (more cutting) to avoid running it up to the MB chamber and back down. Extra HDD cage and slots removed from upper chamber for better airflow. 4 DVD drives may or may not be a good idea, I did that so I could just leave game disks in there and not swap them. So far this comes in handy when I cant find a no-cd .exe, sometimes a headache when the game cd security software is too stupid to realize the extra SATA drives exist. Thankfully those games that arent too bright have no-cd .exe's :cool: The 3 DVD's are SATA, the DVD-R is IDE. Front panel wiring is run through the 3.5 drive bay (minor inside front panel and 3.5 cover trimming needed to route through there). I am also using an Antec double slot blower (very very quiet on low) to exhaust the hot 8800GTS exhaust outside the case right at the source. Helps a lot with keeping things cool.

Likes: Quiet. I also like the seperate HDD/PS chamber idea.

Dislikes: I want another 120mm fan in the front to balance out the air flow. With the fans as they are now, the above expansion card vent is actually an intake, I'd like to have that an exhaust or at least neutral. Due to this phenomenon the double slot blower was needed as the 8800GTS exhaust was recirculating into the 8800's intake and also running up in the CPU area. I could get one of the 3-5.25 drive bay conversions that plant another 120mm fan in those bays, but then I would lose my DVD-ROM's.

Overall it works good for what it is. 3.6 GHz of C2D 6600 goodness will not go above 62C under Orthos load with 78F room temps, so that is good. I am eyeing the new Lian Li A16 case as I really like that fan setup and style (I'm starting to wonder about having a door). However, I am also wondering if going to that Lian Li will result in more noise. Decisions, decisions :D .

You can stick another 120mm fan in the front if you reattach that upper hard driver, but I don't think the 8800GTS would fit; but judging from how you ghetto mounted the front intake :p , you might have the old revision without the second fan mount. Most cases don't even have an intake for the graphics card, the air usually gets warmed up by the hard drives. Also, does your PSU stay cool with the fan facing down like that? But other than the orange fans, I like your setup. :D
 
Yeah, that 'super noise free vibe damping rubber fan screw' is catching some heat here and on the rate my wiring thread, and I dont notice any difference, maybe I'll put screws in there sometime.:D

It is the old revision case. I'd like to get that Kama bay 120mm fan kit that takes 3 5.25 spaces, but then I would lose my DVD's. Works cool enough now though, more of a 'want' type thing. The PSU cools ok, there's enough room for the fan on the bottom, and with the the YL and PSU fans blowing, the PSU fan never spools up. Didnt spool up without the tunnel fan either, so I guess its is as cool as it can be like that.

All of the fans are set on low except the one on the radiator.
That is an older sunbeam fan contoller and its just connected to the radiator fan and my cathodes lights.

Ah... cool. I'm trying to find something to fill one more spot in the front. I have the 2 optical drives and the 2 drive cages, leaving me using of of the filler panels, and every time I wipe dust off the front of the case I push the filler panel in. I haven't really looked too hard, but I saw that yours appears to match pretty well so that's why I asked.
 
Did you really paint the heatsink of your CPU cooler black? Doesn't that degrade cooling performance and make buying the expensive cooler pointless? (besides looks)

nope it came that way its the AM2 version of the Zalman 9500 comes with a black finish and a green led fan :D

Nothing wrong with a little curiosity... It may have killed the cat... but insanity brought him back.

I guess its just nickel plated copper. Temps. are great though 42C idle and i don't think I've seen it go higher than 54C under load... I just put the heatsink back on this week however if the temps don't drop a few more degrees I might have to re-seat it cause I was getting 38C idle before I got the case painted?

I did all the metal work for the most part, but the painting credit goes to my good friend returning a favor. The paint is quite unique and was applied like this, the whole case was tore down and sanded(he even drilled out the rivets to remove the top). Then a coat of "sealer" was applied(kinda like primer but helps fill in the orange peel texture of the plastic and makes the paint stick real good), followed by a thick coat of black, sand, three coats purple pearlescent, more sanding, and two coats of clear coat(with you guessed it wet sanding). :D

The inside of the case is stock 2003-2004 Ford Mustang Teal which got two coats.

And the door handle and fan brackets were painted 2005 Chevy Cobalt Blue also with two coats.
